Fred Erichsen RIP

One of my best friends in High school, Fred Erichsen passed away not too long ago from a random heart attack. Great guy with a great family. I stole a photo from Facebook that his wife had said was her fav. photo and painted it as a gift for his family. One never knows when your time is due to be up in this world that is why you must try to enjoy the little moments of life. Out of my group of about 6 friends from High school, three have passed on, quite strange. I think I was the most reckless of the lot so now I just try to be a good healthy man and be thankful for life.

                                              SELF PORTRAIT WITH SKELETON ARM

A FASCINATING MAN, I AM TOO LAZY TO WRITE UP MY OWN BIO SO START WITH THE WIKIPEDIA PAGE. I SPENT TIME IN NORWAY PAINTING WITH ODD NERDRUM SO I GAINED AN AFFINITY FOR NORWEGIAN ARTISTS (ESPECIALLY SOME OF THE LESSER KNOWN ONES) MUNCH IS PERHAPS THE BEST KNOWN NORWEGIAN ARTIST, THE SECOND I WOULD SAY IS ODD NERDRUM.

Saint Rocco Painting

Work in progress, Saint Rocco. I had to pull the mural off the wall to handle some ceiling renovations so it is now on a table. It is too large to fit on even the largest plywood sheet so I have to work on it in two phases. There is a lot of times when it is better for me to work flat on a table instead of vertically, especially if lettering is involved. I am convinced that all artists who have had to include lettering laid it down flat on a table. Lettering on an easel is near impossible. My goal is to finish the entire painting of piece tomorrow and then install ASAP.
