Portraits by Gardega

I was commissioned to paint a portrait of someones teen playing lacrosse. The important thing with any piece is to stay interested, you need to find something to keep you interested or your work will feel flat. Here I tried to focus on energy and a "height of the moment" dynamic. I really enjoyed this piece even though I am not a big sports guy. If you ever just "walk through" a painting and go through the motions, it will never work. you must invest yourself in any piece you paint.

Ocean painting by Gardega

Working out my second ocean piece.  I lean toward stormy skies and seas by nature but occasional I dont mind a mid-day sunshine.

Teaching a class in Virginia. I was exhausted from murals in NY and Florida but her smile made the class worthwhile. It is really a warm feeling to teach people art.
