leaonardo learning: pride in the name of art

In your exceedingly difficult journey throught the maze of art you will encounter many obstacles and psychic wounds. These come in many forms and colours. One such spectre will be the issues of finance. The journey of art is perilous and lined with fear and poverty is oneof the great test of human wills. Poverty sucks (as the saying goes) but nothing between heaven and earth sucks worse than a lack of self knowledge, a sense of self or a lack of identity. Above the oracle in delphi it said "know thyself" it did not say "get rich above all" William blake died in poverty, one of the great souls to walk on this earth, and yet his works live on and inspire men to wonder. I have met a thousand empty souls, I have looked into a million lost eyes. What good is a pile of gold at the end of your days if you never learned who you really were, your ears deaf to the music of life and eyes blind to the magic of art. This is poverty. This is tragedy. William blake saw the universe in a grain of sand and eternity in an hour and his shoes probably had holes in them.
